Maps – Beta Test
$0.00
Hello fellow stitchers!
Thank you for agreeing to be part of my test audience to try new designs and techniques!
I’m trying a few new things here at once, and really would love to hear back from you about them before I go forward. I would love your help and feedback to make this a great project for everyone.
This week, I am testing a new blackwork technique for making maps. It’s a very different way than I normally make them. I’m trying to keep them light, fast to stitch, and simple.
In this folder, you’ll see there are three sample states (Connecticut, Idaho, and Iowa). I know they might not be your state, but I need to test these first before I put the time in to make more. These states are drawn directly from the government county boundaries (I’m trying to keep them scientifically accurate). I’ve attempted to minimize the amount of trims in each one of them. There are a few different versions and sizes in each folder with their corresponding PDFs. Please let me know which you like and if there are any you don’t like.
You will also see there is a folder of phrases and a folder of symbols. The phrases have fun and quirky quotes about home on them. The symbols are stars, homes, and hearts.
The idea is that you take a map from one of the states and stitch it. Then you pick set of phrases that you like to put under it. For example, “Home is where the heart is” and stitch that phrase down. Then you pick a symbol, like the heart and center your machine over home and put the heart where your home is on the map.
